Friday SCS Lakers U14s Lakers Hold Off Embers in a Thriller 7:15pm, 18 December 2025, Court 1

The Friday SCS Lakers U14s captivated their home crowd by defeating the Embers 24-22 in a challenging match. This win brought their season record to 4-1. It was a story of two halves that tested the Lakers' offensive power early on and their mental toughness late on, showing that this team can handle high-pressure finishes. Lans started the game off with an absolute scoring clinic, scoring six straight points to set the tone for the rest of the game. Lans was almost impossible to stop in the first half, scoring almost all of the Lakers' points and giving them an 11-5 lead at the break.

The home team kept the momentum going early in the second half, and their lead grew to 17-7 thanks to a clinical finish from Muse and a big bucket from Rajiv B. The Embers, on the other hand, wouldn't give up easily. They made a strong late-game push that cut an 11-point deficit to just two points in the last few minutes. The score was getting closer at 24-22, and the tension was at an all-time high. The Lakers had to dig deep on defense to get the stops they needed. Lans was the clear star of the win, scoring 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-5 from the free throw line when it mattered most. Lans scored most of the points, but the Lakers' toughness helped them win their fourth game of the season.
